WE BELIEVE THAT CATHOLICISM IS A FALSE RELIGIOUS SYSTEM AND TRULY IT IS ONE OF SPIRITUALLY BLIND PEOPLE FOLLOWING SPIRITUALLY BLIND LEADERS.

Matt.15:14-"They be blind leaders of the blind.  And if the blind shall lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."

Calvary Ministries to Catholics was organized for a threefold purpose.

EVANGELIZING THE LOST AND ESPECIALLY ROMAN CATHOLICS.

EXPOSING THE DOCTRINAL ERRORS AND FALSE TEACHINGS OF ROMAN CATHOLICISM.

EDUCATING BIBLE BELIEVING CHRISTIANS TO BE EFFECTIVE WITNESSES TO THE LOST AND ESPECIALLY ROMAN CATHOLICS.

We believe that the Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.  We further believe that the Bible expressly condemns traditions and doctrines of men. (Matt. 15:3,9; Mk. 7:7-8; Col. 2:8; Titus 1:15)

As the director of this ministry, I would like to briefly share my testimony.  I was born into a Roman Catholic home in Peoria, Illinois.  I was baptized as an infant at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.  I went to St. Bernard’s Catholic grade school.  I went to my first Confession and first Communion as well as received Confirmation at St. Bernard’s.  I was a faithful Roman Catholic and learned all the teachings and doctrines of my church.  I believed that the Roman Catholic Church was ‘the one true church.’  I was an altar boy in the sixth and seventh grades and was one of the head altar boys in the eighth grade.         Each time that I would go to Confession, I firmly believed that my parish priest was able to grant my absolution and forgive my sins.  I would faithfully say and do all the penances that my priest told me to do.  However, deep down in the innermost reaches of my heart, I still harbored feelings of guilt.  I never felt that I had done enough.  On numerous occasions over the years, I would tell my parish priests about the guilty feelings and feelings of doubt that I had.  The answer was always the same.  “My son, you don’t have enough faith.  You need to pray more earnestly to Mary and the saints.  Cry out to Mary and she will comfort you.  You need to pray more rosaries.”  As I got older and committed more serious sins, the feelings deep in my heart grew worse.

When I entered the Army in 1967, I was a terrible sinner.  Still I would go to Confession to numerous Army chaplains.  I expressed my feelings of guilt to these chaplains and got the same answers that I had previously gotten from all my parish priests over the years.  The last time that I ever went to confession was to a chaplain priest in Heidelberg, Germany.  I confessed my sins and said my penance.  Afterwards, I asked the chaplain if I could speak to him.  I told him of my feelings of guilt and once again I received the familiar answer.  So, I decided that I would just live a life of sin and pleasure.  When I was discharged from the Army in 1970, I was a alcoholic and a desperate sinner.

Something happened in my life on September 12, 1971 that changed me forever.  Some friends of mine insisted that I attend a Baptist church with them.  For the first time in my life I heard the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I saw myself as a Hell bound sinner.  In my desperation, I cried out to the God of Heaven.  I asked Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sins and by faith and nothing else, I asked Christ to be my Savior.  At that very moment, all the guilty feeling and doubt left me.  From that day forward I have known that I will go directly to heaven when my life on this earth is over.

Over the years, many a Roman Catholic has told me that I made a terrible mistake by leaving the ‘Holy Mother Church.’  No mistake, simply the best decision that I have ever made in my life.  For you see, the Bible is quite clear in the fact that we can KNOW that we have eternal life.

The Lord called me into the ministry in 1973 and I studied for the ministry at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina.  Over the years, the Lord has allowed me to be involved in many exciting ministries.  I have served as assistant pastor in several churches, done supply work and was involved in the bus ministry for a  number of years.  These were all part time ministries and I worked a public job.  The Lord began dealing with me in 2005 about fulltime ministry.  I took early retirement from my public job on April 14, 2006 and trusted the Lord to direct me to the fulltime ministry that he wanted me in.  He opened the door for me to join the staff of The Conversion Center, Inc. where I ministered under the leadership of Dr. Edwin G. Moore.

At the definite leading of the Lord, I resigned from The Conversion Center in May of 2008 and started this new ministry, Calvary Ministries To Catholics.  These are exciting times and I am looking forward to the Lord opening new areas for this ministry.  As he continues to direct my paths, it is my sincere desire to share the precious truths of God’s Holy Word with as many precious Roman Catholics as I can.  More than anything else in the world, I would like for Roman Catholics to “know the truth and have the truth make them free.”

May I share some simple truths from the Scriptures that could change your life for all eternity.

1. I MUST REALIZE THAT GOD ALONE CAN FORGIVE SINS:  1 Timothy 2:5-”For there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”  Mark 2:7-”Who can forgive sins but God only?”  1 John 1:9-”If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

2. I MUST ADMIT MY SINFUL (LOST) CONDITION:  Romans 3:23-”For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

3. I MUST RECOGNIZE THE PENALTY FOR REMAINING LOST:  Romans 6:23-”The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

4. I MUST REALIZE THAT SALVATION CANNOT BE OBTAINED EITHER BY GOOD WORKS OR THROUGH A CHURCH:  Titus 3:5,6-”Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost, which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.”

5. I MUST BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST ALONE PAID THE PENALTY FOR MY SINS ON THE CROSS:  Romans 5:8-”But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

6. I MUST TRUST JESUS CHRIST BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH ALONE TO SAVE ME AND GIVE ME ETERNAL LIFE:  Ephesians 2:8,9-”For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”  Romans 10:9,13-”That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
